Once again, weʻve brought back yet another fan favorite influenced by an iconic graphic from the 80s, our Locally Owned tee. The first time we ran with this, it was seen on an all black zip-up hoody. This time around weʻve translated it into an all black tee, albeit in the same featured colors: red, white and black. Up next we have a gray melton wool Mua with black brim, white Mua and red New Era and top button hits, white crest on the back. And finally, for the ladies, weʻve got an all black v-neck dubbed Je Tʻaime which translates from French into English, I Love You. The graphic features a white heart made out of a trilock pattern with Je Tʻaime in red script, with our trademark logo for womenʻs tees on the back in red. See yʻall Thursday!

Tomorrow we unveil our Marquesas pack, and it’s a heater! Let’s get straight to business: we have a brown and teal New Era snapback inspired by prints one would have found in the Pacific crafted from polyester. You truly have to see it in person to catch the full effect of this cap. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed. Next, we have something for the ladies: an all gray women’s v-neck with our Kalakoa print on the neck in tonal gray. Next on deck is a Kalakoa crewneck, just in time for this rainy weekend: all gray with tonal Kalakoa print on both sides. Last but not least is a custom SF Giants cap in maroon red. These all go on sale in stores and online tomorrow at 11 AM.

Tomorrow’s release revolves around the incredible colors assimilated within our immediate environment and found in Hawai’i's natural backdrop. From the glassy water that surrounds the cluster of the Hawaiian islands, the different hues of water, the crispy, golden Sun and lush green foliage, jungles, and forests. These colors are reflected in these two shirts releasing tomorrow: first up is our Glassy tee which represents the perfect day at the beach: perfect sets, beautiful blue sky with not a cloud in sight. The next tee is our Standing 8, which represents all eight islands that make up the immediate Hawaiian archipelago, as well as the colors that represent each island. Super limited amounts, so please head down as soon as you can!

Pull up a chair & have a seat. Pay close attention. Class is in session. Let’s briefly discuss the Hawaiian Renaissance (also known as the Hawaiian Cultural Renaissance) which was an reawakening or revival, if you will, of our contrasting Hawaiian cultural character and distinctiveness during the early ‘70s. Contemporary Hawaiian music artists such as Gabby “Pops” Pahinui (of Sons Of Hawaii fame) helped play an integral role in this cultural movement / resurgence. With this renaissance, there was a reasserted curiosity and interest in pidgin, Hawaiian language, Hula, Hawaiian studies & traditional Hawaiian arts. Before this enlightening cultural rejuvenation, there was the Merrie Monarch Festival (which they still run to this day) established by George Na’ope. The Merrie Monarch Festival helped resurrect the artistry, history, study and practice of archaic hula. Hit the jump for more (detailed) pics.

This plays an important role in leading to this Saturday’s release: Homegrown. The general definition of this is: “Raised or grown at home.” To us, the definition of Homegrown is much deeper than that. Homegrown is more than a sense of pride, it’s the way we carry ourselves, whether we’re at home or abroad. It’s the way we treat others (with the utmost respect, as we’ve been taught by our elders), the way we greet each other, the way we may seek out for a Spam Musubi somewhere as far off as Tennessee, knowing very well that we more than likely won’t find it. Homegrown to us is embracing our sports teams and hometown heroes, even if when they’re on the receiving end of negative press. On to the product, this pack features a men’s and women’s tee, plus a crazy Homegrown New Era. The men’s tee features artwork from Gabby Pahinui Hawaiian Band record, very vibrant colors printed on a white tee, with a colorful fill in the crest on the back. The women’s logo tee is printed on white and features FITTED written across the chest in green and pink, same colors running on the back crest. On to this incredible hat, which is a phenomenal piece of artistry. Featuring rib-stop nylon all over with an array of colors associated with our island’s state flower, the hibiscus (orange, white, green and yellow). The inside of the hat features bright green tri-locks with contrasted eyelets. The icing on the cake is that this is our official Homegrown hat, perfect to go along with any of our Homegrown series tees and our Homegrown hoodie. About a month ago we released our first ever women’s tees (the Bangles, logo tee and Tri-lock) which had a really great response. We’re back yet again with a new design specifically for you. Dubbed “The Long Kiss Goodnight,” this original design draws inspiration from the 1996 superior thriller film of the same name which starred Samuel L. Jackson & Geena Davis. One could also reference the song with the same name from Biggie’s quintessential LP, “Life After Death.” Printed on black, this design is hand drawn in red with a white stroke and a pair of lips. It gives a dark, sinister feel yet still holds an alluring, seductive appeal that you can’t deny. Swag up ladies!

February 14th marks the day of baked cupcakes. Sweet cupcakes, if you catch our drift. A 24 hour period when Cupid puts your better half in a romantical* chokehold; a time when you may find yourself digging deep into your pockets or bank account to buy your significant other confectionery (assorted chocolates / candy), flowers or a simple greeting card. It’s a day of mushy, sappy, pulpy feelings of cavernous emotion; unless you just happen to be unaccompanied by a main squeeze, then it’s usually just another day consisting of possibly finding someone to cupcake it up with (No Stalkers!).

To salute this occasion of sappy intimacy, we put together a pack which includes not only a tee for the dudes, but TWO women’s tees. The entire pack goes hand in hand (no pun intended), which I’ll explain as we go along. Although many of you may be a little too young to remember this period of Hip-Hop, in the early 90s (1992) emcee Positive K put out an anthem of sorts which catered to not just the ladies, but the dudes as well. “I Got A Man.” Not too sure if that rings a bell. To play off the words from the chorus, the women’s tee features the quote “I Got A Man” in white and red, including a red crown hit on the back. This specific tee is for the “already taken” ladies, hence the “I got a man,” whereas it continues on to the single men’s tee: printed on all black it sees the rest of that previous quote “What Your Man Got To Do With Me.” Blunt & straight to the point, effortless swag.

Next up is another women’s tee, more specifically for those of y’all who are all ready to snuggle up with your man. Fittingly titled “Lover’s Rock” as in the name of the same album and song from one woman who was probably responsible for a many births, the one & only Sade. Or it could be referred to the sub-genre of reggae, ‘lover’s rock’. Whichever you heart desires. Printed on a white tee, the graphic which is on the back, depicts a couple isolated on a waterfront while the sun sets in the distant horizon and swaying palm trees. The front sees a red heart near your heart with the crest planted firmly inside. The icing on that cupcake is a Valentine’s Day “Aloha” custom snapback properly dubbed LOVE AFFAIR (PILI HO’OIPOIPO). Red on the whole top paneling with a white Aloha embroidered across the front with a white stroke. A red leather bill with a red satin underbill and red satin lining superbly sets this hat, along with the rest of this pack together. Now no more ooohing & aweing, dig into your pockets & get ready to head down to the shop to purchase this pack for your lover.
