Camping on the Bellows Military compound is a bit regulated for my tastes but it does have it’s benefits. One being it keeps the riff raff from showing up at your camp site unannounced and empty handed. Last weekend provided what possibly could be the best weather and ocean conditions I have experienced at the traditionally onshore beach in over 20 years. I mean to have pure glass to the horizon is unheard of in these parts. I took full advantage of the epic water with sunrise paddles on the yak each morning and was blessed to bring home a bit a sashimi for the family with each trip. On the first night Capri and I sprung a leak in our air mattress and ended up on the ground by 5am… all good though… it was time to watch the sunrise anyway. Gave the mattress a quick pump and donated it to water activities. It was a big hit with the kids and adults alike. Uncle Brett and I caught all the action while lounging under the G-Men tent. We weren’t exactly roughing it either. I mean having toilets, hot showers and a shoppette that supplies cold beer and ice within walking distance is nice but… well you know. – RM
