Aloha kākou!

It’s been an incredible journey as we shared a piece of our history with you week after week. As we bring this collection to a close, would like to send out a huge mahalo to all of our customers for the continued support throughout the years, since our inception to present day and beyond. You are the ones who made this collection possible, because without you, we would have no legacy. M A H A L O !

This Saturday marks the conclusion of our Spring 2014 D2 “Legacy” Collection, with the following releases based off memorable designs from our past.

Fasi 59FIFTY
We are bringing back the precursor to our popular Cheehuu design—the Fasi—which was designed as a tribute to Frank Fasi, the longest serving mayor in Hawaii. During his tenure he created his own legacy, one that includes opening the Neal S. Blaisdell Center, creating the Summer Fun children’s program, starting the annual Honolulu City Lights festival, and arguably his most important accomplishment: establishing TheBus, which has been recognized as a national award-winning public transportation system. We first released the Fasi hat on Black Friday back in 2007, in a green/red/yellow colorway limited to only 50 pieces. The second time around we released it in black denim with tonal black embroidery and a red undervisor. For this special release, we are bringing the Fasi back on an indigo denim 59FIFTY, with white embroidery all around. Bold contrast is provided by the red undervisor, eyelets, and top button.

“Pride of the Pacific” Tee – White
Featuring our classic “Pride of the Pacific” pattern—originally released in 2010 on a v-neck tee—printed all over in red on a white tee. The printing process on this shirt is unique in that the pattern was printed on the inside of the shirt rather than the outside. This allows for a subtle, muted look to the overall shirt.

Aloha kākou!

Our Spring 2014 D2 “Legacy” Collection continues this weekend with the following releases, based off memorable designs from our past.

“White Wash” Aloha Snapback
Released in 2008, the original “White Wash” Kamehameha 59FIFTY became a highly popular fan favorite. The production and material were unique, and the concept behind the hat hit home as a direct reference to the vast body of water that surrounds us and all the beautiful beaches we have here in Hawaiʻi. For our Legacy Collection, we created an Aloha snapback that pays homage to the “White Wash” Kamehameha while keeping its own identity. We’re using the same cotton canvas base, but this time we’ve switched it for an olive stone color with a very muted distressed wash for a subtle nod to the original. The inside stays true to the 2008 version with the “Tools of the Trade” satin lining, this time in honey dew with matching sweatband and undervisor. The side New Era logo is embroidered in honey dew as well, while the Aloha logo, side crown, back crest, and eyelets are stitched in white.
**IN-STORE EXCLUSIVE: For the purists out there that are seeking the look of the original “White Wash,” we will be releasing a very limited amount of bleach-distressed hats, hand-done by our FITTED team. Only 25 of these hats were made, and they will be an in-store exclusive.

The New Era logo, side crown, and eyelets are embroidered in powdery sand yellow, while the back shaka logo is embroidered in white. Aloha kākou!

Our Spring 2014 D2 “Legacy” Collection continues this weekend with the following releases, based off memorable designs from our past.

Koko Kālā 59FIFTY
Originally released in 2007, our Kālā hats have become some of our most popular and sought after releases. Utilizing unique design, embroidery, and material rarely seen before, the Kālā became an instant classic. Running stitch floral embroidery was seen covering the hat in various bright colors, all on a solid colored cotton linen crown. Over the years, we’ve reintroduced the pattern in various projects, notably in collaborations with established companies like Crooks & Castles and Vans/Blue Hawaii. Through our Legacy Collection, we have the opportunity to bring back the Kālā once again. We are both proud and excited to release the next installment in the franchise: the Red Kālā 59FIFTY. Literally translated to mean “Money,” the Red Kālā features the same cotton linen material with all-over floral embroidery, this time on a bold red base. The crown, crest, and New Era logo are all embroidered in the same red for a tonal look.
**PLEASE NOTE: The Red Kālā fits bigger than usual. Please order one size smaller for a better fit (i.e. if you are a 7 1/2, you may want to order a 7 3/8).**

SPRING 2014 D2 “LEGACY” (FOURTH RELEASE)

Aloha kākou!

Our Spring 2014 D2 “Legacy” Collection continues this weekend with the following releases, based off memorable designs from our past.

“Island Camo Leopard” Aloha Snapback
Back in 2008 we created a cotton burlap hat using the H Pride logo, but it was never released — instead it remained as a rare sample that we were always fond of. Now through our Legacy collection, we have a chance to revive the look and feel in a new way. Featuring a cotton burlap base, we’ve modified the leopard print by utilizing our Island Camo pattern for the structure. It also features white embroidery on the front “Aloha” and back crest, along with gold eyelets, New Era logo, and side crown. Bold red on the undervisor, top button, and snap enclosure perfectly contrasts the Island Camo leopard print. The Hawaiʻi State Seal is displayed on the satin inside liner.

SPRING 2014 D2 “LEGACY” (THIRD RELEASE)

Releasing in-store and online this Saturday, April 12th, 2014.

Aloha kākou!

Our Spring 2014 D2 “Legacy” Collection continues this weekend with the following releases, based off memorable designs from our past.

Kamehameha 59FIFTY
Our first Murakami colorway was released in 2006 as an H Pride 59FIFTY, part of the very first group of FITTED New Era hats. To honor that momentous occasion, we are bringing back that exact Murakami colorway remixed with the Kamehameha logo on the front, a nod to the other design that released at the same time in 2006. Featuring a green base with orange hits on the undervisor and top button, as well as orange embroidery all around. The Kamehameha logo on the front is outlined in white just like the H Pride it’s modeled after, and it also marks the first time we’ve ever had a Kamehameha with an outline. And of course, it wouldn’t be complete without the black and gold satin “Tools of the Trade” lining underneath.

Home Grown Snapback
Based off our original release from 2009, this remake favors a black base instead of the original white. Utilizing micro rip stop nylon material, this snapback features white front and back embroidery as well as green/black embroidery on the sides. The inner tri-lock lining and sweatband perfectly match the original, while the white snap enclosure provides a new variation from the original 59FIFTY version.

Aloha kākou!

Our Spring 2014 D2 “Legacy” Collection continues this weekend with the following releases, based off memorable designs from our past.

“Home Grown” Bucket Hat
Originally released in 2009 with a white base, we are bringing the “Home Grown” pattern back on a private label bucket hat, this time on a black base. The pattern is an homage to the cult classic “Home Grown” compilation album from 1977.

“Home Grown” Tee – Banana
Like the bucket hat above, the type treatment on this tee is a nod to the “Home Grown” album from 1977, and features the floral pattern fill from our 2009 release on a banana colored shirt. The saying “Home Grown” is also a proud statement for those that are loyal to their soil. The back features a large crown filled with the same floral pattern.

“Kill Them With Aloha” Tee – Black
To round out this week’s release, we are bringing back our military-inspired “Kill Them With Aloha” tee, which was also originally released in 2009. The front features the “Kill Them With Aloha” slogan in white, with a large white crown on the back outlined in red. The left sleeve features our kahili logo in red, while the right sleeve features “116th Battalion Hawaii” also in red, as a military-inspired moniker. The “116” is also a nod to our official yellow Pantone color. Yellow kalo (taro) lau (leaves) adorn the bottom left of the tee, acting as achievement insignia.

SPRING 2014 D2 “LEGACY” (FIRST RELEASE)

Friday, March 28th, 2014 by

Releasing in-store and online this Saturday, March 29th, 2014.

Aloha kākou!

Since we first opened our doors back in 2004, we have strived to not only release great looking product, but to also create meaningful designs that center around authentic Hawaiian culture, whether it be past or present. In each piece we offer, we try to teach and share the story behind it through the traditional style of Hawaiian moʻolelo (story-telling). In doing so, we hope to create or strengthen the connection to Hawaiʻi, and the pride in embracing that connection.

As we near a decade in this business, we chose to look back to the beginning and everything that has brought us to where we are now: countless designs that have stood the test of time and reminded us that we arenʻt just a fad that comes and goes; and of course you — our ʻohana — that have grown with us.

Our Spring 2014 Delivery 2 Collection is a look at our lineage and the humbling experiences we’ve gained along the way. These are some of our favorite FITTED stories and designs from the past nine years. This is our legacy.

“Pride of the Pacific” 5-Panel Camper
Features an all white linen base with our Pacific Standard label on the front and embroidered crest on the back. The left and right panels feature our classic “Pride of the Pacific” pattern printed inside out in red for a light, muted look. A black snap enclosure finishes the look.

“Aloha Means Hello” Tee – Black
Features our “Aloha Means Hello” design on a black tee, with white and red “Pride of the Pacific” pattern fill.

“Aunty Bangles” Tee – Red
As a nod to our legacy, we’re bringing back a tee that is sure to turn heads. Our Aunty Bangles design was definitely outside-the-box, and thus became an instant classic. Also features the return of our big crown logo on the back in black.

We hope everyone had a splendid Christmas, drank lots of Ka Lei eggnog with some MD 20/20 mixed in and got all their presents they’ve been waiting for. Myself personally, well, I guess Santa is truly feeling the recession along with everyone else, sans the charcoal industry. All I got was a big bag of Kingsford charcoal. Beats receiving just a few lumps like last year. Even though 2010 is literally right around the corner, it doesn’t mean we’re slowing down at all. No cease-fires, no armistice / peace-treatys signed with time. We still have a couple more releases as we prepare to move into the new year and leave the past at history’s doorstep.

Tomorrow’s release sees a custom UH New Era: purple on the two front panels, black on the remaining four with a white brim, topped off with a white button. We’re predicting that 2010 will see many custom hats sporting a crispy, white brim. The t-shirt sitting parallel to the custom UH is a sea-green shirt we’re calling Legacy. The front left chest features a trilock hit (black, purple, white and teal) with a tagline “Out Of Many, We Are One” in white lettering and HAWAII sitting beneath that. The back design features the same tagline with HAWAII in rotating black, purple, white and yellow forming a triangle around a trilock pattern.
