Today the family and I decided to take a field trip to the de Young museum in the City to check out, “The Political Line,” ┬áKeith Haring exhibit and to expose Baby Ayden to some culture at the early age of 18 days old lol. The Political Line is an amazing exhibit and it is a must see for those who get the chance. It had more than 130 of his work from paintings on canvas to sculptures to drawings of penis’ on napkins, haha. Yup, a whole wall of napkin drawings of that. This exhibit “creates a narrative that explores Haring’s responses to nuclear disarmament, racial inequality, capitalist excess, environment degradation, and other prevalent social issues of our time.” For designers to find inspiration, to fans of the culture and of Haring, to just art lovers, take a day and check it out.

REIGN OR SHINE x KAMEHAMEHA (MELTON WOOL)

Monday, May 9th, 2011 by

Releasing tomorrow, May 10th

Influenced by two legendary artists we admire heavily around these parts: Keith Haring & Jean-Michel Basquiat. Most other artist’s reign on top were short like leprechauns. Not with these two. The shirt is printed on all black with a graphic that is a nod to Mr. Haring’s well known graphic stylings along with Basquiat’s famed crowns in a triangle with a red stroke [ II ] and white fill with black graphics. The backside features a red crown. Coinciding with this release is a grey melton wool Kamehameha with a white brim and button, black underbill and black Kamehameha logo.
