Last night, while some idiots more than likely sat through that mindless, imprudent and absurd “show” known as Jersey Shore waiting for the premiere of Kanye’s latest avant-garde visual offering, the smarter heads went straight to the internet, and lo and behold – you could find the full version online (in full 1080p, mind you). “Avant-garde?” you say. Well yes, because something like this has never been done on this level. It’s experimental, it’s cultural, it’s short and fun, it’s a dark, twisted fantasy (right, Bas?). According to director Marco Brambill, the depictions are inspired by Roman and Renaissance iconography that visually stimulates power. The project took nearly a month to complete, in between the multi-layering of images, implementing 3-D graphics and post-production [1. 1].
