FITSTRIKE RELEASE: SLAPS WIND SNAPBACK, SLAPS WIND STRAPBACK, & GROPIUS TEES

Friday, April 3rd, 2020 by

Releasing exclusively online this Saturday, April 4 at 11am HST.

SLAPS WIND

Aloha kākou!

This Saturday, we’re releasing two new FITSTRIKE Slaps Wind hats and a new tee design in two colorways. Both the Slaps Wind snapback and Slaps Wind curved visor strapback feature black bases with yellow, black, and white front embroidery outlined in metallic gold. Both side logos are tonal black, while the back crests are yellow and black, and the snapback also features a white snap enclosure. The new Gropius design is inspired by the work of German architect, Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus School and one of the foremost pioneers of modernist architecture. The design is printed on either a white or purple tee.

From Ola:

“The mind is like an umbrella—it functions best when open.“ – Walter Gropius

The Bauhaus movement began in 1919 when Walter Gropius founded a school with a vision of bridging the gap between art and industry by combining crafts and fine arts. Bauhaus, which means “Building a House,” included all disciplines of art, design, and architectural education and lead to inform and develop subsets of design such as typography, art, architecture, graphic design, interior design and industrial design. The Bauhaus style is embedded within and is the inspiration of this release, with our own tribute to cultural iconography, our trilock gets the Bauhaus treatment. While dipping into typography inspired by the great Dutch designer Wim Crouwel, Aloha Served Daily remains the mindset!

Releasing exclusively online this Tuesday, March 31 at 11am HST.
Please note our Kona Street location is closed for the time being, and all stock has been moved online.

PALISADE

Aloha kākou!

We had a lot of fun imagining and creating the Kōlea collection earlier this year, so we wanted to revisit it with an expansion pack of sorts. This Tuesday, weʻre releasing a new Palisade snapback in the original colors of the Kōlea capsule, with a black base and white, gold, and teal accents all around. Weʻre also releasing a new Flourished Bird tee in black, as well as a new Plateau Technical Short featuring high quality craftsmanship, covered in our unique Armament trilock camouflage. The front left side of the Plateau Technical Short features our FITTED logo, and on the opposite side our Morale side seam tag is stitched right below the front right pocket, with a sizing spec label stitched on the inside of the same pocket. It also includes a double-stitched drawstring with heat-shrunk rubber aglets on the knotted ends. A custom-designed drop-crotch gusset was added for extra durability and comfort, shaped to be two trilocks together as a diamond. Other details include a large trilock back gusset, two mesh back pockets sealed by water-resistant reverse invisible zippers, a TropTech label above the back right pocket, and a keyring loop sewn into the waist on the wearer’s right side seam.

FITSTRIKE RELEASE: MUA 59FIFTY & GONZO TEES

Friday, March 27th, 2020 by

Releasing exclusively online this Saturday, March 28 at 11am HST.
Please note our Kona Street location is closed for the time being, and all stock has been moved online.

MUA

Aloha kākou!

Saturday’s FITSTRIKE release consists of a new Mua 59FIFTY and a brand new tee design. The Mua features a red base with yellow embroidery on the side and back, while the front embroidery features white and red-to-yellow gradient stitching. The new Gonzo tee is inspired by the late eclectic author, Hunter S. Thompson, who is most known for popularizing the unique style of journalism known as “gonzo journalism,” as well as being the author of “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.” This particular design is based on his book, “The Curse of Lono,” in which he describes his experiences in Hawaiʻi in 1980—one being a fishing trip where he catches a large marlin and beats it to death with a Samoan war club. Printed on either a black or white tee, the photo of Thompson with the marlin and club adorns the front. The logo on the back of the tee is inspired by the Gonzo Fist logo, the symbol of the entire gonzo journalism movement.

Well yup, I got married at the end of the month so I’m bout that life now! Haha ok anyway, I flew to Vegas earlier this month for the Agenda Trade Show. FITTED FAITHFUL

Monday, May 13th, 2013 by

Releasing Tuesday, May 14th.

IIWI4

Aloha kākou!

The iʻiwi or Hawaiian honeycreeper bird of Hawaiʻi is considered to be of significant value within our rich culture and history. The feathers of the iʻiwi were championed by the aliʻi which were used to decorate ʻahuʻula and mahiole; where some of these cloaks for the elite class contained up to hundreds of thousands of the fiery red feathers of the iʻiwi. Unfortunately, due to their native forests being cleared for farming and unnecessary urban development, the iʻiwi species has declined significantly in numbers and is now listed as a threatened species, which portrays a similar parallel to the Kanaka Maoli due to the introduction of diseases from Western contact which slowly decimated the Native population. To remain aware and alert of this, we’ve brought back our FITTED Faithful tee in charcoal heather gray with the I’iwi bird in red outlined in white. The print appears on the front and the back with FITTED Hawai’i and complimented by two yellow FITTED crests.
