Aloha all!

First of all, raise your hand if you’re as disappointed and sad as I am for not even having a decent chance at purchasing Air Jordan III Doernbecher’s on Nike.com over the weekend. Although I have a pretty respectable track record of ordering history on Nike.com, I recently have decided to put my account into hibernation due to the madness of online ordering. I understand Nike is not to blame, but how does this problem get fixed?! Anyhow, pau crying… On to this weeks sneaks!

Adidas Y-3 Qasa Low

Y-3’s answer for the Roshe Run? Haha! Gotta give it up though, these are amazing! Gonna have to pass though due to the retail price of $365… Ouch.

Sperry Top-Sider Color Pack

Yes!!! My favorite boat shoes of all time! As funny and ironic as it is, I absolutely hated these when I was a young sole…. Comfort and a clean, grown look has matured my thinking. Finally, Sperrry is catching on!

Supra Falcon “Desert”

I don’t (and never thought about) owning a pair of Supras, but for some reason this silhouette caught my eye. Might think about giving these a shot some day…

Beauty & Youth X New Balance RevLite 996

Very uniquely beautiful color choice… I dig.

Herschel Supply Co. X New Balance H710

In my eyes, Herschel has been a company who is very good at sticking to their specific “look” since day one. Although this may not be my usual style of shoe, I can appreciate the good execution. Good job with these Herschel!

Nike Roshe Run Hyperfuse

Nike continues to push limits with fabric combos… What’s new?

Nike Air Diamond Turf – Gamma Green/Atomic Red

Bright colors in all the right places… Clean, yet vibrant. I dig.

Air Jordan Retro X – Metallic Silver Patent Teaser

Tens were never really on my favorites list but I’m definitely interested at seeing how well Jordan Brand can execute metallic patent leather…

Rumored Releases for Jordan Brand in 2014

Retro, Retro, Retro, Retro, Retro = Money, Money, Money, Money, Money. Yay.

I sometimes disagree with the order of Complex’s lists, but I found this read to be a particularly good source for learning about some shoes you may not be familiar with. It also was helpful in reminding me of a few things I forgot about in storage… Haha

Collin Kaepernick Shares His Love For Sneakers

Love Tasha

Nickname / AKA:

Shoe size:

GS 5.5 – 6 | Mens 6.5 – 7

How many years I’ve been in an affair with sneakers:

I was force fed into sneakers! I grew up during the best years ever; the 90’s & 2000’s. The 90’s were an era of basketball superstars. My initials are N.E.T. and since I loved those McDonald’s/Michael Jordan commercials, I would doodle in elementary school “Nothin’ but NET.”

How many pairs I own:

Definitely not enough.

Amazing sneaker-related story:

In kindergarten, during read aloud time, one of my guy classmates was teasing me and my fashion sense because I wore black basketball sneakers. He called them “BOY shoes” suggesting that I shouldn’t be wearing them. What a troll! My mom would help dress me, and urged me to wear covered shoes. She was just trying to protect my feet from the harsh dangers of childhood (you never know with them jungle gyms and sham battle — war zone!). And god forbid was I gonna rock them all white tennis shoes with pink sparkly designs and velcros. I guess I just always was kind of a tom boy, head to toe. High socks, wind breakers tied around the waist (Nike, Reebok, Nautica, Polo), Adidas track jacket (or even the whole dam suit), Mossimo/Stussy/FUBU/No Fear/Bad Boy tees, Jansport backpack (straps making them sagged low, then by the 2000’s up high), Tommy Hilfiger, hats on backwards, and of course… BAGGY PANTS. Aaliyah and TLC always reassured me that I could dress like a boy, sneakers and all… but still be feminine. Thanks ladies.
In recent years, I studied abroad in Japan 3x during my undergrad and did an internship in Tokyo. Hanging out and just strolling through the shops in Harajuku and Shibuya, as well as out in Osaka is what really broadened my horizons of street and urban fashion. So much diversity and self expression. Like that one Far East Movement song, “shop the streets of Tokyo, get your fly kicks…”

Holy Grail and why:

Honestly, almost every shoe I have has a significant meaning to me. Please don’t make me choose <3

Most despised footwear and why:

Crocs. Yea, exactly… WHY?!

Currently hunting for:

T23 in size 7, still waiting for a good deal to come along. Also, waiting for fall (supposedly) when Nike brings back GP’s Zoom Flight 98s. Probably the reason why I don’t care for the Jordan XX8’s is because they remind me of them, and you can’t replace a classic.

Changes or surprises I’m hoping for in the sneaker world:

Bots be GONE. I’ve never bought or utilized bot technology (which is a computerized method of obtaining shoes through online platforms). I hope that Nike can figure out a way to allow actual humans a chance to cop. As for surprises, I really like how the old school has been making comebacks. For better or worse, they’re baaaaccckk! From retro-ing old Jordan colorways, to Reebok reviving the Questions, Pumps, and Shaq Attack, and Shaqnosis. Such sweet nostalgia. I recently saw some vintage Nike Air Command Forces at a the Dunkxchange show in Portland, and damn, to see those come back would be amazing… PUMP! 🙂 L.A. Lites and Dada shoes should make a comeback. I saw a rumor that they’re going to re-release the AJ1 XQ China’s… I’m hoping that Jordan Brand quits with this hyping ish, although it does allow me the opportunity for me to pick up underrated pairs for deals.

Additional comments, shout-outs, big ups:

There are way too many to mention, but I want to first give respect to all the real individuals I know out there all around the globe. I appreciate your positivity and support. Also, the OG’s!  “I’m payin’ homage ’cause you’ve paved the way for me” <3 Thank you so much to everyone in the sneaker community for always showing me love. Big ups to Hawaii for putting our name on the map (@ComplexMag top 15 sneaker cities in the WORLD). All my fam out there in the sneaker groups and not just in Hawaii (you all know who you are) HSS, HSH, SGHI, VSH, $FU, SGLA. @Dunkxchange for allowing me the privilege to represent as a female ambassador. Thanks to my folks for sponsoring the early years and dealing with my “hoarding” <3 Thanks to my dad for building a storage unit with his bare hands, soooooo legit! Best pops in the world! Mahalo’s to my homie @JJParkz for asking me to do this lil interview. I’m humbled to be asked by someone with a collection of his caliber and involvement in the industry, to be asking lil’ ol me on my input about sneakers. Of course, special thanks to @Fitted!
