As anyone from SD will tell, you Point Loma Seafoods is a must visit while in town. I have personally been enjoying the fresh fish here since the early 80′s. They are located at H&M landing which is where all the commercial and sport fishing boats land after pillaging the deep blues. You can sell your catch or have it filleted and smoked for your enjoyment. With a full menu and full bar, you can’t beat an ice cold beer and freshly smoked albacore on the water as you watch the days catch being unloaded. Enjoy.

While away visiting our boy Lenny, we would pass this all in one hot spot each day on our way to the hospital. This place had it all, meat market, fresh tortillas and a restaurant all connected with a common hallway. The meat market was packed with fresh cut meat, marinated favorites like carne asada, chicken and fresh chorizo. The mesquite charcoal was also there to complete your BBQ kit. The center area housed the tortilleria where old Mexican ladies were busy making homemade fresh chicharon, tortas and tortillas. On the opposite end of the meat market was the restaurant where $3.99 would get you 3 amazing tacos and a soda. I opted for 2 carne asada and 1 cabeza to start my day, breakfast of champions! All of this just reminded me how much Hawai’i needs some authentic Mexican cuisine. Enjoy.

Releasing Saturday, July 24th

Aloha kakou!

This year marks the second centennial celebration of King Kamehameha unifying the Hawaiian Islands by way of bloodshed and sharp and intelligent deliberations; by 1810, all eight islands were ruled under one leader.[1] Although blood was spilled in the lead up to the merging of the islands, the purpose was to bring peace and affluence to the nation, eventually establishing relationships with foreign countries for trades, as well as the development of the sandalwood industry.[2] As history has shown us, the last island that Kamehameha had to conquer in order to bring his vision to fruition was Kaua‘i, however the first attempt provided devastating results as most of Kamehameha’s fleet was destroyed during a big storm. Eventually, Kamehameha met with two great Ali’i of Kaua’i, and it was agreed upon that Kaumuali‘i (the current ruler of Kaua’i at the time) would continue to rule Kaua’i until his passing, in which the reigns of power would finally be passed on to Kamehameha.[3] Ultimately, Kaumuali‘i became a vassal of Kamehameha and in 1810, as we’ve stated above, the islands of Hawai”i, Maui, Kaua’i, Kaho’olawe, Lana’i, Moloka’i, O’ahu and Ni’ihau became one. That is, until our government was illegally overthrown 83 years later.[4]

Tee features a seal that reads “200 Years Strong : Hawai’i Nei” on the front; the back features two hundred red kahilis.[5]

I just came back from a quick trip to Duarte, California; City of Hope to be exact. Our dear friend and brother Mr. Kenneth Brimer aka Lenny Blaze aka Lendini is currently residing there after his recent bone marrow transplant. Myself and a few others were on hand to give love and support to Lenny, all of us hoping that something as small as our presence would add to Lenny’s already amazingly strong spirit. It was great to see family and friends, both young and old show up to lounge with Lenny. Lots of laughs and skate videos and talking about the good ‘ole days. Lenny has been at the City of Hope for the past 6 months. With that being said, I would like to say that Lillie, who is Lenny’s wifey and personal Night Nurse, has Patience, Love and Compassion that should be admired by us all. Enjoy the pics and please send Lenny your prayers. I have included Lenny’s mailing address if anyone out there would like to send some love Lenny’s way. Also, please check out the download link that includes a few of Lenny’s favorite songs. Something for all to enjoy whether you are stuck in your cubicle or doing 90 mph on the H3.

Releasing tomorrow, Tuesday, July 20th

Aloha kakou!

Tomorrow’s release, called Get Smarts, is dedicated to those who maintain a “don’t give a f*ck, anarchist attitude”; those who do what they NEED to do in order to be successful in life, who doesn’t take any nonsense from anybody; who doesn’t wait for instructions from officials; who walks between the thin line of order and where entropy reigns supreme.
